First Ubuntu evening at the Josefstadt district office: a successful start for the City of Ubuntu Association
On October 1, the first Ubuntu evening of our association, City of Ubuntu, took place in the Josefstadt district office. It was a wonderful evening on which we looked back on the past year together with numerous guests and gave exciting insights into our work. The entire team was represented, and we were delighted to have a special surprise: Stéphane, our team member from Cameroon, had traveled to Vienna especially to be there live.
Presentation of the annual report and current projects
The evening began with the presentation of our annual report, in which we highlighted the progress and challenges of the past year. The guests were given a comprehensive insight into our current projects and the various areas in which we are active.
Stéphane reported on the progress made in arable farming and livestock development in the City of Ubuntu in Cameroon. His personal presence allowed us to share the success stories and challenges with the visitors at first hand.
Philipp and Herwig, our architects, presented the new construction project, which is dedicated to sustainable development. A community center is to be built on the City of Ubuntu site in several stages. The two architects shed light on the steps involved.
Association chairman Jean de Dieu took the time to once again explain the long-term goals and visions of our association.
Veronika und Bernadette berichteten von der letzten interkulturellen Reise nach Kamerun, bei der die Teilnehmer*innen unvergessliche Eindrücke und wertvolle Begegnungen erleben durften.
A special thanks
Many thanks go to the head of the eighth district, Martin Fabisch, who made the premises in the Josefstadt district office available to us and actively supported our association at this event.
We would also like to thank everyone who visited us that evening. The large number of guests showed us that the interest and support for the City of Ubuntu is alive and growing.
Culinary delights and intercultural exchange
Of course, there was also plenty to enjoy. Cameroonian specialties were on offer for our guests to sample. This contributed to a warm and open atmosphere in which exciting conversations and an enriching exchange took place.
With this start, we are looking forward to the coming year with confidence and look forward to working together with our supporter partners on the vision of the City of Ubuntu.
