Field update #29

A lot is happening in the City of Ubuntu – discover our latest developments!

The first harvests of 2025

We’re delighted to have made our first harvest of 2025
We harvested ndolè (bitter leafs) which we cooked on the spot and enjoyed with the family, because as they say, good charity begins at home.

A very limited stock is already available for sale in Cameroon, so don’t hesitate to contact us for yours.
It’s also possible to have dry ndolè leaves ready to cook in Austria, so let us know if you’d like to taste this emblematic Cameroonian dish, which is part of UNESCO’s cultural heritage.

We also harvested the honey .
We had 25 hives of honey, so we called in an experienced beekeeper to help us with the harvest.
The harvested honey is now being pressed from the combs and made available in liquid form in one-liter bottles as usual. But in the meantime, you can enjoy the extraordinary pleasure of tasting 100% natural pure savannah honey on the shelf.

Breeding

Our pigs are probably the happiest animals at the center right now.
We’ve built a mud pit to allow our pigs to have a good time in the open air during the dry season.
The mud helps the pigs to refresh themselves, which is extremely important for keeping them at a good ambient temperature, especially when it’s extremely hot. Mud acts on their bodies in the same way that sweat acts on human bodies to regulate temperature.

50 Brahma chickens move in soon

50 Brahma chickens will soon be moving in with us! The chicks will initially be carefully reared in a warm room until they are 21 days old and strong enough for the outdoors.

Layers for chickens

We’ve installed nesting boxes to enable our hens to lay their eggs in complete safety and to protect them until they hatch.

City of Ubuntu builds a processing plant for agricultural products in Sanki.

The machinery for dehydrating and grinding the products has already been delivered to Sanki.
The building that will serve as the workshop will be built very soon and will meet the safety and hygiene standards required for processing agricultural produce and seasonal fruit. So you’ll be able to enjoy mangoes and plums all year round.

construction of a sheep pen
Plant care
Since the last time, our cocoa plants have grown well.

Stay up to date!

We continue to work for a productive year at city of Ubuntu!
