City of Ubuntu Empowers Women Through Financial Independence

On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, on March 8, 2025, City of Ubuntu Cameroon, committed to its mission of strengthening the capacities of social actors, offered a 100% free training program for women of all ages to help them better manage their budgets.

In the Cameroonian context, women traditionally play the role of household managers. Naturally, they are the ones who handle finances and organize family transactions. This training aimed to equip them with the necessary tools to carry out this daily task more efficiently. More broadly, the initiative also sought to promote women’s financial independence.

With this in mind, the training was held yesterday at the City of Ubuntu Cameroon headquarters, gathering young women with Excel proficiency levels ranging from 0 to 2 on a scale of 10. After three hours of learning, the participants were highly satisfied, as the clearly defined objective had been successfully achieved. Each participant left with a personalized budget sheet, ready to be used and tailored to their individual needs.

On this International Women’s Rights Day, City of Ubuntu sends a message of encouragement to all women. One of the fundamental rights of every human being, and therefore of women, is the right to education.
