At City of Ubuntu, everything we do is rooted in the Ubuntu philosophy: “I am because you are.”

This beautiful African wisdom reminds us that we exist in connection, that our strength comes from one another, and that collaboration is not only necessary, but transformative. Over the past months and years, we’ve had the joy and privilege to collaborate with inspiring individuals and organizations who embody Ubuntu in their own work. Today, we want to introduce you to three of our partners: Veronica, Louis, and Fabrice. Each of them is carrying out life-changing work in their communities—and together with them, City of Ubuntu is building bridges, empowering people, and creating opportunities.

Veronica – Teacher, Designer, and Founder of Seed of Value (SOVA)

Agbor Veronica Epse Fai is a visionary entrepreneur and founder of Divine Touch Designs, a pioneering brand that transforms textile waste into stunning products in the sectors of Fashion (Clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags, and hair accessories) and Home decorations.

She is also the founder of the Seed of Value (SOVA) Association, a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable individuals with skills for self-sustainability and financial independence.

Veronica’s passion for Women empowerment, Youth development and Community development has led her to partner with like-minded organizations such as City of Ubuntu, who share her vision for a brighter future.

Through SOVA, participants learn skills like handicraft and design, that can allow them to gain independence. But SOVA is more than a training hub: it is a safe space, a community, and a movement. Its motto, “Break the barrier, be the bridge,” beautifully reflects its purpose.

City of Ubuntu has had the privilege of working alongside Veronica by complementing her design trainings with our own expertise: training in entrepreneurship, accounting, leadership, informatics, and building an online presence. Together, we help women not only master a craft, but also gain the skills to launch and sustain their own businesses.

In 2025, we co-organized two trainings in Yaoundé, where creativity met entrepreneurship, and where the spark of possibility turned into concrete next steps for many women.

Founder of IAO

Louis Ndjie – Founder of IAO, Pioneer of Sustainable Agriculture in Cameroon

Louis’ story is one of resilience, vision, and humility. Born into poverty in Cameroon, his life changed when a Swiss priest recognized his potential and helped him study in France. Yet, instead of staying abroad, Louis chose to return home with his French wife, convinced that his knowledge would be of greatest value in his own community.

With little more than determination, they bought a swampy, inexpensive piece of land, built a wooden house, and Louis began teaching a handful of students sustainable agriculture. What started small has now grown into the Institut Agricole d’Obala (IAO)—a thriving high school and university for sustainable agriculture, with 50 hectares of land where students learn hands-on farming techniques.

IAO also opens its doors to those who never had the chance to attend formal schooling, offering short trainings to help people start their own agro-pastoral projects. Today, Louis’ daughter Elisa continues his mission, developing bio-agriculture within IAO.
Their next project is already on the way: a food processing factory to preserve agricultural products and increase local value creation.

On our Ubuntu Journey 2025, we visited Louis and his institution. His success, humility, and boundless energy left us deeply inspired.

Fabrice Nguetsa – Beekeeper, Consultant, and Our Partner on the Ground

Fabrice joined our Ubuntu story more recently, but our collaboration quickly became essential. He is a beekeeper, as well as the founder of his own agro-pastoral consulting company. We first met him in March 2025, and from the very beginning, we knew this partnership was meant to be.

When he visited our land, our honey had not been harvested for more than a year. Fabrice rolled up his sleeves, and in the very first harvest, he collected nearly 100 liters of pure honey. Now, together, we are working on increasing the number of hives, bringing healthy, natural honey to local communities while ensuring our project’s sustainability.

During our Ubuntu Journey, we had the unforgettable experience of tasting honey fresh from the comb—a moment of pure sweetness that captured what collaboration with Fabrice feels like: natural, nourishing, and full of promise.

Together in Ubuntu

Each of these collaborations reminds us of the power of working together. Veronica empowers women through training, Louis builds futures through sustainable agriculture, and Fabrice nurtures life through bees and land. At City of Ubuntu, we are honored to walk alongside them, sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and living the Ubuntu philosophy.

I am, because you are. And together, we are stronger.
